Q: What is Macintyres?

A: Macintyres is a beautiful, family run, high quality jeweller. We operate as a membership club. We choose to do this so that we can sell beautiful diamonds, jewellery, current brands and the latest watches at up to half the high street price.

Q: I’ve heard that you must be a member?

A: Yes, membership is free. Companies offer membership to their employees as a staff benefit. It's free for the company and free to the staff member. We do this in order to be able to sell at low prices. Check if your employer has arranged membership on our Membership Page .

Q: Do I fill in an application form?

A: Yes. Bring in proof of employment in-store or check if your employer is registered and fill in the form HERE. Your membership is live immediately.

Q: Why you need to know where I work?

A: We need a way of letting you know that you have free membership, so we arrange this with your employers in return for them internally advertising this fantastic benefit to you.

Q: Will my employer know what I have bought?

A: No, your employer only arranges your free membership. They will not know who has taken up membership, what you have bought or anything else about your transactions.

Q: Why have membership if it is free?

A: In order to sell at up to half the high street price, we must keep our overheads as low as possible, so we do not advertise but we still need to let you know all about us. Having membership allows us to do that through your employer.

Q: I work for a large company in Edinburgh, but I have never been told anything about Macintyres membership.

A: Check HERE to see if your employer has arranged free membership. A lot of employers forget to mention it. If you work for any of the banks, building societies, insurance companies, forces, NHS, local councils or educational establishments then you WILL already have free membership and there are about 8,000 other companies that are members too.

Q: Can anyone use my card?

A: No, but we are delighted to offer supplementary cards for your family members. You would need to attend with your card on their first visit.

Q: Why bother with a supplementary card I can just come in with them?

A: You can, but they might want to buy a surprise for you.

Q: I want to arrange membership for my employees, do I have to pay for their purchases?
